My name is Carlos Semchechen, I am originally from Brazil. You might be thinking ‘his last name does not sound Brazilian.’ I am fourth generation of Ukrainians living in Brazil. I still speak Ukrainian and read but I cannot write. The alphabet is different from what we learned in school. Today, I live in Stamford, CT where there is a big Ukrainian community surrounded by the Ukrainian Museum, Ukrainian Seminary, and Ukrainian Research Center and Library of Stamford.
